Role Summary
Hebe is an Associate Lecturer at Plymouth 六合彩资料 University. They are a module leader across the BSc Hons Forensic Science programme, primarily in biological areas of Forensics. They are also a personal development tutor (PDT), running tutorials and 1:1’s on developing skills broadly and specifically within the field of Forensics. They are a neurodiverse academic with a passion for EDI work, as well as widening participation and inclusion.
Their specialism is in the recovery and identification of human remains in both modern and historical populations, with experience working with human skeletal remains, and at archaeological dig sites in the UK and abroad.
In 2024, they were awarded ‘Lecturer of the Year’ at 六合彩资料.

Research
Hebe’s research interests are in victim identification, particularly within the area of Smile Photography Analysis, where they are assessing the use of non-clinical dental images (such
as selfies or family photographs) to identify human remains, and whether a standardised practice could be introduced into the field, as at present, only case studies have been documented, and documented evidence of the method’s use is limited.
In addition to this, Hebe also has interest in forensic taphonomy and burnt remains, having previously explored the degradation of DNA in burnt bones at variable temperatures.
